Obtura Spartan is a unique blend of two innovative and progressive companies. Spartan Ultrasonics was formed in 1979, manufacturing Ultrasonics for dentistry.
In 1994, the Obtura product line was acquired and Obtura Corporation was formed. The two companies have since been joined as Obtura Spartan.
The company has become one of the leaders in the endodontic field. We have sustained the success of the Obtura II with continued improvements, such as Flow 150 Gutta Percha and the 25-gauge needle. Through sound engineering and alliances with educational leaders in endodontics and other fields, we have re-designed the Spartan Ultrasonic, introduced BUC®, CPR®, KiS®, SLTM ultrasonic tips and most recently have added the PST Perio Scaling tips to our ultrasonic tip line. Other innovative equipment and instruments round out our exciting line of products such as the KiS Microsurgical Instruments introduced in May of 2004.
Obtura Spartan has upgraded to ISO 13485:2003 and CMDCAS Registered Firm status from BSI signifying that we have developed and maintain a stringent quality system under which all products are designed and manufactured. We employ approximately 30 individuals covering a broad spectrum of experience and talents.
